Peaceful Harmony, Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinical Counselor, specifically a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), to join our remote team. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to provide vital mental health counseling to diverse populations, including arrestees and community members facing mental health crises. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to de-escalate situations, develop actionable treatment plans, and facilitate appropriate care pathways, including coordinating involuntary psychiatric detentions when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with law enforcement on critical mental health responses, providing expert guidance in real-time scenarios to ensure safe and effective interventions.
  • Conduct on-site training for police staff, equipping them with the skills necessary to handle mental health episodes, ultimately aiming to de-escalate situations and reduce reliance on force.
  • Deliver comprehensive case management by liaising with third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health and psychiatric facilities, while proactively checking in on clients to monitor their progress.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records of patient interactions and care plans in accordance with ethical guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Foster clear and effective communication between law enforcement, crisis support units, hospital staff, and psychiatrist(s) to guarantee cohesive patient care.
  • Assist law enforcement personnel in conducting field evaluations during mental health incidents to accurately assess the necessity of 5150/5585 applications for involuntary detention.
  • Provide short-term crisis counseling tailored to the needs of non-violent individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, demonstrating empathy and expertise.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals in crisis, which includes arrestees requiring immediate mental health interventions and community members seeking support during challenging times. These populations often face unique challenges and must be approached with sensitivity and understanding to facilitate effective recovery and ongoing support.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, superior interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous clinical experience, particularly in psychiatric settings, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques further enhances candidacy.
  • A background in working collaboratively with law enforcement or crisis intervention teams is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

Peaceful Harmony, Inc. offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $122,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
