As a Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor, you will be paired with an adult learner to help them build essential language skills. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a tangible, lasting difference in someone's life. Whether your learner is working toward a high school equivalency diploma, looking to improve their job prospects, or trying to navigate everyday tasks like reading medical labels or helping their children with homework, your guidance will unlock new opportunities for them.

We set our volunteers up for success. You will receive an initial Volunteer Tutor Training session covering adult learning principles, Roles & Goals, and lesson planning. You will also have direct access to our staff Literacy Coordinator and a wealth of color-coded reading resources, lesson plans, and specialized curricula.
