PackerCity of Industry, CACompensation IncludesStarting Pay Rate of $18.64 - $20.64/hourAvailable Shift1st2ndOverviewResponsible for catching and inspecting bags, ensuring that product meets our quality standards, with minimal waste.ResponsibilitiesContinuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazardsUtilize lockout/tagout as required, following established policy; ensure guarding is in place at all timesKeep work area clean and organized, per standardsEnsure that work is being performed in a manner to produce quality products, according to our quality requirements and specificationsFollow all applicable food service policies and proceduresFollow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as requiredMeet production targets set by managementCatch bags as they come off machineInspect bags for flaws in quality, assembly, print or other problems, and reject those that do not meet standards set by managementPlace proper amount of bags into sleeve in the pressPlace labels on boxes, making sure they are marked correctly, neatly and are uprightSpot check boxes to make sure correct count of bags are enclosedPlace acceptable boxes on skids by using proper lifting techniquesPlace bundles of bags into poly bags when neededMust be able to keep up with budgeted machine speedKeep accurate production reports, ensuring all required forms are filled out completely, accurately and legiblyIf no specific work instructions are given, clean-up is to be performed at your normal work areaMeet/achieve safety, quality, production, waste and housekeeping goals as set forth by managementOther miscellaneous duties as assigned by managementQualificationsReading, writing and basic math skills are needed to complete paperworkThis is an entry level positionMust have ability to discern detail and make decisions about bag qualityMust be able to keep up with pace of machineCompany BenefitsWhat You'll Get From UsBenefitsWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
