Shipping/Receiving Clerk & Receiving Lead

We are seeking two first-shift Shipping/Receiving Clerks and one Receiving Lead for our large metal finishing facility located in Costa Mesa, CA. This role involves managing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring quality assurance, and coordinating with production and customers. Overtime opportunities are available upon completion of training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production schedule meets customer due dates.
• Assist in processing production orders.
• Perform quality assurance activities throughout all stages of production.
• Receive and inspect customer products for processing, including greeting customers at the service counter and receiving shipments from carriers like UPS and FedEx.
• Verify purchase orders for part numbers and quantities.
• Conduct visual inspections for part damage and previous processing issues.
• Verify part quantities and stage receiving shelves.
• Maintain part identification and traceability.
• Complete and maintain paperwork as per internal procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workflow of the receiving area.
• Seek opportunities to learn new skills and cross-train into various departments.

Essential Skills

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Professional communication skills for interacting with customers via phone, email, and in-person.
• Basic knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving, packaging, material handling, inventory control, and data entry.
• Knowledge of inspection and inventory management.
• Typing skills are a plus for planning tasks.

Work Environment

The facility consists of six buildings, each dedicated to different stages of the metal finishing process. Employees work in a structured and organized environment with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and efficient workflow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
