Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic (Level 2) with strong hydraulic systems experience, specifically in wet kit installations for PTOs (Power Take-Off units). The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in diesel engine systems, hydraulic setups, troubleshooting, and safety standards in heavy-duty fleet environments. This role is essential to supporting Ecology's diverse fleet of trucks and trailers to ensure uptime, safety, and operational excellence.
To perform this job successfully you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational school certification preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with at least 1 year specializing in hydraulic systems and wet kit installs.
Knowledge of PTO systems, hydraulic pump setups, tank configurations, and control mechanisms.
Must have own tools and experience using diagnostic equipment and power tools.
Working knowledge of diesel engine systems (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.), DEF systems, electrical diagnostics, and air brake systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Fleet Maintenance software is a plus.
Must hold a valid driver's license; Class A or B license preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced shop environment.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and lift tools or parts.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Work involves exposure to dust, noise, grease, and diesel fumes.
May be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must adhere to all company safety protocols including PPE usage and equipment lockout/tagout procedures.

The Diesel Mechanic (Level 2) position offers an appealing compensation package, with a competitive hourly wage range of $25.00 to $37.00 per hour (DOE).
