Vice President, Operations

  2026-06-19     BBQGuys     Chino,CA
Description:

Vice President, Operations & Pacific Coast Manufacturing

BBQGuys isn't a retailer that happens to sell just grills. We're a brand-builder, a manufacturer, and an e-commerce operator, all under one roof, united by a single belief: Every outdoor living area we create is designed not just to look beautiful, but to feel personal, meaningful, and is built for lasting memories.

Our portfolio of brands spans across BBQGuys (the nation's leading online destination for everything backyard and beyond), Blaze and Mont Alpi (premium own-brands with fierce customer loyalty), and Pacific Coast Manufacturing, our vertically integrated factory in Chino, CA where the steel actually gets cut, welded, and finished.

The Vice President of Operations & Pacific Coast Manufacturing is the operating engine behind all of it. Two mandates, one executive: (1) lead the shared services platform that keeps our entire portfolio humming, and (2) own the full P&L of PCM from its production floor to its commercial relationships, and its growth trajectory.

This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance. You'll be on the floor troubleshooting a throughput problem one day and in a board presentation the next. You'll know your numbers cold, develop your team relentlessly, and make calls that stick. In return, you'll have real authority, a direct line to the CEO, and the satisfaction of building something that shows up at backyard cookouts across the country.

Shared Services Operations The Enterprise Platform

  • Own supply chain, sourcing, logistics, inbound/outbound freight, warehousing, and fulfillment end-to-end with the service standards of a premium e-commerce brand and the efficiency discipline of a lean operator.
  • Drive inventory strategy, demand planning, and working-capital management across business units. Right product. Right location. Right margin. No excuses when it's off.
  • Build and hold the enterprise to a common operating standard; KPIs, scorecards, SOPs, monthly business reviews, safety, and quality. You set the bar; you own the bar.
  • Lead vendor and carrier negotiations that move the needle on landed cost, lead time, and reliability. Rationalize the supplier base with conviction; relationships matter, but results matter more.
  • Champion continuous improvement as a permanent operating mindset. You're always asking what's next, and your team follows your lead.

Pacific Coast Manufacturing Full P&L

  • Own the full PCM P&L: revenue, gross margin, operating income, working capital, and CapEx. These are your numbers. You know them, you drive them, you answer for them.
  • Run the plant with operational excellence: production planning, scheduling, throughput, yield, quality, EHS, and lean manufacturing. You're plant-floor credible; the team knows it and respects it.
  • Set PCM's commercial strategy across two customer groups including internal Blaze and Mont Alpi programs, and external OEM partners who sell through BBQGuys.com and dealer channels.
  • Lead capacity planning and capital investment; automation, tooling, and facility expansion to scale output in line with Blaze's growth. You think in CapEx cycles, not just quarterly schedules.
  • Lock in the connection between PCM production and Blaze's forecast and promotional calendar so we're never caught flat-footed on in-stock position.
  • Develop your PCM leadership team; plant management, quality, EHS, materials with the same intensity you bring to the P&L.

Cross-Portfolio Strategy & Executive Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and business-unit leaders to grow owned-brand mix and the gross-margin lift that comes with it. Understand the commercial levers, not just the operational ones.
  • Translate commercial strategy into manufacturing, supply, and service plans the organization can execute. You bridge vision and reality clearly, specifically, and without losing anyone along the way.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives across TMS, Sourcing Logic, Distribution Strategy, automation, and continuous improvement. You don't just sponsor these, you drive them.
  • Represent Operations and PCM to the board, investors, and key OEM partners. You're comfortable with scrutiny, generous with transparency, and always prepared.

How We'll Measure Your Impact

  • PCM revenue growth, gross margin expansion, and on-time/in-full performance to Blaze and OEM customers.
  • Own-brand sell-through mix on BBQGuys.com and the resulting lift in enterprise gross margin.
  • Enterprise inventory turns, working-capital efficiency, and landed cost reductions.
  • Customer experience metrics across all businesses - delivery speed, damage rate, fulfillment accuracy. These numbers connect directly to the people buying our products.
  • Depth and capability of the Operations and PCM leadership bench. If the team isn't stronger when you leave a role than when you arrived, something's off.

What You Bring

  • You've owned a manufacturing P&L, ideally in metal or stainless-steel fabrication, and you know what it feels like to be accountable for every line on it.
  • You're deeply fluent in e-commerce and DTC operations: supply chain, big-and-bulky fulfillment, multi-channel logistics, and what it takes to deliver a premium customer experience at scale.
  • You've led shared services across multiple brands or business units in a holding-company or multi-entity environment and built the systems that made it work.
  • Your commercial instincts are sharp. You think at the intersection of manufacturing cost, merchandising margin, and digital demand and you can hold your own in any of those conversations.
  • You're plant-floor credible and boardroom ready. You can walk a production line, spot what's wrong, and fix it and then walk into a board meeting and own the narrative.
  • You build trust through follow-through, not just follow-up. Your team knows where they stand, what's expected, and that you'll go to bat for them.
  • You leave every team, process, and system better than you found it not because you were told to, but because settling never really felt like an option.
  • BS/BA in Business Administration or a relevant field; MBA is a plus. Strong working knowledge of data analysis, performance metrics, and business infrastructure.
  • Available to travel up to 50% domestically between Baton Rouge, LA and Chino, CA.

BBQGuys is the kind of company where operators with real ownership mindsets thrive. We move fast, we hold ourselves to high standards, and we genuinely love what we're building. If you want a role where your decisions matter, your team grows, and your work eventually ends up in someone's backyard on a Saturday afternoon we'd love to hear from you.

Physical Demands:

  • Domestic and International travel up to 50%
  • Sitting for extended periods of time, including, without limitation, in office settings, and during air travel.
  • Computer use, with or without adaptable software
