Controls Technician (HVAC/Building Systems)

Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Controls Technician (HVAC/Building Systems) to join their dedicated team. As a Controls Technician (HVAC/Building Systems), you will be an integral part of the Facilities Maintenance Department supporting building operations and ensuring optimal performance of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Brea, CA

Pay Range: $31hr- $34hr

Shift: 1st shift Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm

What's the Job?

  • Oversee and monitor the operation of refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems, making adjustments to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform routine inspections, tests, and data analysis to assess building systems and identify potential issues.
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing, piping, wiring, motors, pumps, and related mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on critical building systems, including assembling tools, performing work with minimal disruption, and documenting repairs and inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and hazardous materials handling procedures.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional trade schooling or college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, or emergency backup systems.
  • Skilled in the use of tools and machinery relevant to the trade.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
