POSITION SUMMARY Impact Housing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our modular home manufacturing team. This role is responsible for conducting final quality inspections on completed homes prior to shipment, ensuring all workmanship, materials, systems, and finishes meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable building codes. The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, identifying deficiencies, documenting findings, and verifying corrective actions to ensure every home leaves the facility defect-free, code-compliant, and ready for delivery. This position is ideal for individuals with a construction background who are looking to transition from field work into a quality-focused role within a manufacturing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform detailed inspections of completed modular homes prior to shipment. Inspect structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems for quality, workmanship, and code compliance. Identify, document, and track non-conforming or deficient work through resolution. Verify corrective actions have been completed and meet quality standards. Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process in accordance with company quality programs and state regulations. Complete inspection reports, audits, quality records, and testing documentation. Create and maintain photo and video documentation of project progress and inspection findings. Review construction drawings, specifications, and approved project documents to ensure compliance. Verify project serial numbers, data plates, state labels, and third-party certification requirements. Inspect completed buildings for weather-tightness and report deficiencies. Maintain quality control files and inspection documentation for each project. Monitor and maintain testing equipment and inspection tools. Coordinate with production teams, subcontractors, third-party inspectors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Recommend process improvements to enhance quality and inspection efficiency. Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company safety policies. QUALIFICATIONS 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection, construction, manufacturing, or a related field. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Knowledge of residential construction methods, building systems, and workmanship standards. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction deficiencies. Proficiency with computers, digital cameras, tablets, and electronic documentation systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and work in a manufacturing/construction environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in modular, residential, or commercial construction. Knowledge of applicable building codes and quality assurance processes. Experience using inspection tools and testing equipment. Understanding of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems. EDUCATION High school diploma or GED. The role requires frequent walking, standing, climbing, and inspecting various stages of modular home construction.
