Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services or designee, plans, coordinates, and monitors assigned District bond-funded construction, modernization, renovation, capital improvement, and deferred maintenance projects; serves as District liaison with school sites, staff, contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and public agencies; oversees project implementation through schedule, budget, inspection, and close-out monitoring; participates in assessing facility renovation and repair needs; ensures compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and agency requirements related to school facility construction; and resolves project-related issues to support timely and successful completion of assigned projects.
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university, with a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Structural), Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field. An additional two years of public agency construction experience, in addition to the required experience indicated below, may be substituted for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience managing multi-million-dollar public school or public works construction projects, including direct responsibility for project planning, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and construction phase oversight. Experience working with the California Division of the State Architect (DSA), Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), and state school construction programs is highly desirable.
