Payroll And Benefits Manager
Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing day-to-day management and administration of payroll and benefits functions across all business units in conjunction with corporate HR recruiting staff. This position will be assigned to carry out responsibilities in one (or more) of the following functional areas: payroll, wage/salary administration, time keeping, 401k, company benefits, ADP WFN system optimization, government reporting, policy implementation, leave administration, employment law and compliance as it relates to payroll, benefits, and HR. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll
- Provide strong oversight of U.S. multi-state payroll functions. Ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including but not limited to salary, equity, bonus, benefit deductions, and federal and state taxes. Lead the implementation of any new payroll platforms or upgrades.
- Responsible for ensuring all payroll regulatory filings are completed in line with statutory due dates, and stay current on regulations, benefits changes, and labor laws impacting the payroll process for all payroll tax jurisdictions. Manage employee globalization initiatives and ensure proper treatment of reportable benefits for tax equalized employees.
- Assist with month-end close, quarter-end and year-end processes for all entities including reviewing/approving journal entries, account reconciliations and accruals.
- Assist with refining current payroll operations. Identify and implement appropriate control and compliance mechanisms for payroll. Drive consistency and coordinate regional efforts towards process standardization while allowing local flexibility when required. Collaborate with teams (internal and external) to streamline processes to ensure accuracy, and best-in-class services.
- Process 401(k), garnishments, bonuses, termination checks and special payroll requests.
- Work closely with external auditors to complete the annual company's 401k audit, workers' compensation audit and financial statements audit. Proactively prepare relevant management reports as needed.
Human Resources
- Implement and manage on-going policies, programs, and procedures for payroll and benefits related initiatives.
- Support effective implementation of performance management, talent management, succession planning and other corporate HRIS/Talent programs effectively.
- Support Recruiting team on all new employee onboarding, orientation, and training.
- Prepare HR, Payroll reports, KPI reports and other reports related to compensation and budgets.
- Work with SVP of HR on improving employee benefits including recommending new benefits, enhancing PTO program and managing Annual Open Enrollment.
- Manage employee benefit enrollments/terminations, questions, or inquiries.
- Reconcile monthly benefits billings.
- Assist with the Leave process.

Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience
- Business proficiency in Payroll Systems (ADP WorkForce Now) a MUST.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+year's related experience and/or training, required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with ADP.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state US payroll, with excellent understanding of California payroll laws and regulations
- Expert in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets a MUST
