Our factory-direct facilities on both coasts offer slabs, prefabricated countertops, prefabricated vanity tops, tiles, mosaics, façade panels and cut-to-size items; our west coast facility is home to the country's largest selection of pre-fabricated countertops and vanity tops.Position: General AccountantFunctional OverviewGeneral Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end closing procedures. A successful General Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with Staff Accountants and Junior Accountants.ResponsibilitiesVerify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivableProduce error-free accounting reports and present their resultsAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusSpot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spendingProvide technical support and advice on Management AccountingReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresParticipate in financial standards setting and in forecast processProvide input into department's goal setting processPrepare financial statements and produce budget according to scheduleAssist with tax audits and tax returnsDirect internal and external audits to ensure complianceSupport month-end and year-end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlEnsure compliance with GAAP principlesLiaise with our Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager to improve financial proceduresRequirementsThorough knowledge of basic accounting proceduresIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Familiarity with financial accounting statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands‑on experience with accounting software packagesAdvanced MS Excel skills including v-lookups and pivot tablesAccuracy and attention to detailAptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsBS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant certification2 – 3 years accounting experience requiredCompensation & BenefitsRetirement: 401(k) with 3% Company MatchInsurance: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.Time Off: 10 days of PTO in the first year plus Paid Holidays.If you're ready to elevate your career within the thriving Stone Industry, submit your resume, along with a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
