Job DescriptionJob DescriptionVZ Law, formerly Velasco Law Group, APC, is hiring a full-time Litigation Paralegal with at least 5 years of paralegal experience. The selected candidate must have civil litigation experience. Probate experience is not required but a plus! The Paralegal is responsible for client communication and interaction, written correspondence, preparation of legal documents as well as other administrative tasks around the office. The Paralegal provides excellent internal and external customer services and must be friendly and approachable while providing a professional, yet genuine concern for the welfare of our clients.LocationThe Paralegal is an onsite position that reports to our office in Downtown Long Beach.About VZ LawVZ Law is a well-established and experienced law firm specializing in estate planning, probate and trust law, with offices in Long Beach, Downey and Irvine. This position is also eligible for the following benefits:* Medical insurance* Dental insurance* Vision insurance* Life insurance* 401k with match* Paid vacation* Paid holidays* Paid sick leave* Professional development assistanceEssential Position Responsibilities* Communication with clients, trustees, family members and beneficiaries.* Mail, file service court petitions, responsive briefs and pleadings.* Draft discovery and other legal documents.* Maintain the court calendar for the attorneys, including calendaring client meetings, hearing dates, filing deadlines and reminders.* Organize and assist in document production for trial.* Maintenance of client files.* Provide exceptional client service to all internal and external parties.* Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications* ABA-approved paralegal certificate.* At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience required.* Civil litigation experience required.* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of individuals.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow instructions.* Comfortable working independently.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Impeccable attention to detail.* Excellent self and time management skills to meet deadlines and complete projects.* Experience in probate cases preferred but not required.* Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.How to ApplyThank you for your interest in the Paralegal opportunity available with VZ Law!
