The Quality Engineer is a key supporting role in the Quality Department, with focus on leading the company's Non-Conforming Reports (NCR), Corrective Action/Supplier Corrective Action (CAR/SCAR), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and Supplier Audit programs, and ensuring compliance with Axiom's Business Management System and AS9100 Standards through direct support of the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

• NCR (Non-Conforming Report) Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming raw materials (fiber, resin) and in-process/finished composite materials.
• CAR & SCAR (Corrective/Supplier Action Requests): Lead root cause investigations (using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and similar problem- solving tools) for internal deviations and supplier-related issues.
• CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) Program: Lead root cause investigations (RCCA) using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) , and (Parts PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Supplier Audits & Qualification: Plan and execute supplier audits to evaluate QMS compliance (AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar standards) and technical capabilities.
• Perform on-site or remote audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with QMS (AS9100, ISO 9001 or similar standard) and specific processing requirements (e.g., proper material storage, cold storage for resin, fibers, etc.).
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain full traceability for materials and components, ensuring compliance with AS9100 or similar standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a materials or quality laboratory environment.
• Direct experience in prepreg, adhesive, and/or composites part manufacture.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to export-controlled information.
