The Transactions Tax Specialist I is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with generating transactions tax audit leads. The primary focus is to review transactions tax data to verify accuracy and identify opportunities for client revenue recovery or enhancement. The position involves working closely with senior team members and is designed to build foundational knowledge in California transactions tax reporting regulations. This is a direct revenue generating position reporting to the Lead Transactions and Use Tax Analyst. Job Responsibilities. Learn basic tools and techniques to confirm point of delivery or place of first use in retail transactions to identify simple citywide district tax reporting issues. Review California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) transactions tax data under the guidance of senior team members to confirm reported tax allocations accurately reflects district tax rates.
