Senior Software Engineer – Applied Signal Technology (AST)

Location: Anaheim Hills, CA. This is an onsite position with flexibility at hiring manager discretion. Up to 25% travel may be required.

AST is seeking a Senior Software Engineer committed to excellence and passionate about strengthening national security through advanced SIGINT solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Solve complex technical problems with innovative and ingenious solutions.
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to new developments and ensuring proper setup, configuration, and functionality of deployed systems.
  • Work under consultative direction toward long‑range goals and objectives.
  • Initiate assignments independently and represent the organization as a project spokesperson.
  • Advise management and customers on product and system solutions to meet their needs.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on C++ development in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with Bash and Perl scripting.
  • Experience with Angular web GUI development and JavaScript.
  • Experience with XML.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government‑issued Top Secret‑SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph after start.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Experience with system‑level integration and testing of advanced custom processing systems.
  • Experience developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex algorithms.
  • Experience with UI development, Qt, and Rust.
  • Experience interpreting standards and working with bit‑level data.
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as git.
  • Existing TS/SCI clearance with polygraph active within the last 24 months.
