SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER I

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Software Engineer will work across multiple teams in Enterprise Information Systems and Supply Chain to design, build, and maintain browser-based applications that improve theefficiency of Rocket Lab's operations. Built on a .NET and Angular stack with relational databases and REST APIs, these solutions are tightly integrated with Rocket Lab's ERP system. Beyond writing great code, you'll bring technical leadership to the team—driving architecture decisions and collaborating with Business Analysts and stakeholders to turn complex business requirements into robust, scalable software.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

  • Design and develop full-stack web applications including database schema, back‑end services, front‑end interfaces, and ERP integrations
  • Build and maintain integrations between web applications and Rocket Lab's ERP system
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to refine and translate enhancement requests and business requirements into technical solutions
  • Lead software architecture discussions and approve design decisions
  • Review and approve code merge requests, maintaining high standards across the codebase
  • Participate in and facilitate Agile/scrum ceremonies including stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Deploy and support operational software, and deliver training to end users
  • Manage trade studies and contribute to technical documentation

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience (9+ years total work experience)
  • Experience working alongside Business Analysts to define and refine requirements
  • Experience integrating with ERP systems
  • Technical experience with:
  • C#/.NET
  • TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Angular or other frontend framework (React, Vue, etc.)
  • REST APIs or GraphQL
  • Relational databases
  • Git

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience working in a scrum/agile environment
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Network programming (Sockets/WebSockets)
  • Node.js/NPM build systems and tooling
  • Elasticsearch experience
  • Familiarity with procurement or supply chain business processes
  • Deep familiarity with a specific ERP platform

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
  • Comfortable with occasional outside‑business‑hours meetings during key project phases.

BASE PAY RANGE (CA ONLY)

$130,000 — $150,000 USD
