ICS Computing Support is on the leading edge of information technology, delivering advanced technology solutions that address the specialized needs of IC S researchers and instructors across the software/hardware stack and serving as a resource and avant‑garde forthe entire campus. Unlike traditional computing support organizations that primarily deliver "computing as a service", the team accommodates the school's diverse research and instructional needs—from heterogeneous high‑performance computing clusters and programmable hardware accelerators, to specialized networking and secure environments for cybersecurity research—maintaining an advanced computing environment for instruction while simultaneously providing cutting‑edge resources for faculty and graduate‑student researchers.
The team engages at a peer level with the school's highly technical user base on complex issues involving experimental computing systems and emerging technologies, functioning as proactive partners in research, anticipating technological trends, and providing the autonomy and tools necessary for innovation while ensuring security and accessibility across the community. Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean and the Director of Information Technology, the team plans and oversees the implementation of computing and network strategies to support research, instruction, and administration.
