Duties and Responsibilities: • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics) • Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis • Provides completion of technical tasks. • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. • Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications • Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance • Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project • Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups • Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing • Effectively documents and communicates test results • Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing Provide product manufacturing support for new product development Centered around product development and test development Initiate new product design concepts Assisting in new product development Drive new product development ideas Drive the product development process Expediting new product development timeline Incorporate new technology into product development Assist during product/process design Support the product development team Use the product development process to successfully manage all product development activities Improve product design or design new product using engineering principles and achieve expertise in mechanical engineering Transferring new product design into the manufacturing environment Participating in new product design and design improvements to existing products Support new product development of medical devices Serve as product team technical lead for new product development on multiple projects Serve as product team design support for new product development on multiple projects Providing design and engineering assistance during all phases of the new product development process Optimize product design for ease of manufacturing Assisting in the product design process Requirements: Minimum Requirement: Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 4-6 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team Preferred requirement: Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1-2 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: • Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures • The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope • Proficiency in personal computers • Ability to train lower-level technicians
