Job Duties of Floor Caregivers
Resident Assistance
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
Support residents with mobility, including transfers, walking, and positioning.
Observation and Reporting
Monitor residents' physical and emotional conditions and promptly report any changes to the nurse or supervisor.
Record care activities and observations in logs or electronic systems.
Safety and Cleanliness
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for residents.
Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
Assist with changing bed linens and keeping resident areas tidy.
Medication Assistance (if permitted)
Remind or assist residents with medication intake under supervision or according to facility policy.
Meal Service
Assist in serving meals, feeding residents if needed, and ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
Help with cleaning and sanitizing dining areas after meals.
Companionship and Emotional Support
Provide companionship, engage residents in conversation or simple activities.
Promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
Team Collaboration
Work cooperatively with nurses, caregivers, and other staff to ensure consistent, quality care.
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions.
Emergency Response
Respond promptly to call lights or alarms.
Provide immediate assistance in emergencies according to training (e.g., CPR, first aid).

HCA Registration
CPR/First Aid certification
TB Test/ Xray
