Event Lead Job Description

Event Lead's work is to ensure the perfect execution of social events, from private house parties to weddings and galas that require food and beverage services. Event Leads are responsible for the execution of the front of the house staff, making sure tables are properly set, the food is presented well, and the service goes off without a hitch. Event Leads are in charge of the floor staff, ensuring the staff is in proper uniform and assisting guests in a speedy and friendly manner. They are the liaison to the event chefs, communicating food service needs. The Event Lead works directly with the Event Sales Manager and the Event's Host. The Event Lead is responsible for addressing any questions or concerns that come up during service.

Event Lead Job Duties:

• Assisting in Unloading Company Vehicles
• Delegating assignments to Event Staff for Event Set Up, Services and Breakdown
• Point of Contact between Event Host, Event Planner and Event Staff
• Ensures proper and efficient food services.
• Ensures the bartenders are set up and following all guidelines and company policies.
• Must have a Food Handlers Certificate
• Keeps track of Event Staff Hours and Breaks
• Ensures that all staff are in proper uniform.
• Responsible for breakdown of the event, Packing the truck, Final walk through.
• Responsible to fill out all paperwork associated with the event.
• Responsible for turning in paperwork day of event.

Event Lead Skills and Qualifications:

• Customer Service: Event Leads have to interact with guests. The Event Lead must be friendly and courteous at all times.
• Attention to detail: Event Leads have to keep their eyes on a lot of elements: food standards, uniform standards, service standards, safety guidelines.
• Leadership and Management Skills: Event Leads must be leaders, rallying their team during large events, resolving conflicts and getting the job done.
• Problem-solving skills: Dealing with unexpected circumstances, the event lead must come up with a quick resolution while staying calm and collected.
• Speaking Skills: event Leads need to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give orders and speak with guests clearly.
• Stamina: Event Leads should expect to work long days around cooking elements and will be on their feet most of the day.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Most off site staff positions are part time on-call with most event work being evenings and weekends. Events are located at private homes, venues and some unusual locations.
