Machine Operator 1 Pay: From $25.00 per hour Job description: We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator with experience in operating PLC, HMI controlled semi-automated equipment with a strong background in manufacturing, process and production to join our extraction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various pieces of extraction and post-processing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and local regulations. The role involves daily operation and maintenance of solvent based extraction systems, from biomass preparation, extractions, filtration and solvent recovery, with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities • Document and record production and related data accurately with a strong attention to detail • Operate. monitor, maintain, clean and basic troubleshooting of all extraction related production equipment at regular intervals • Strictly follow processing SOPs related to equipment setup, material prep, extraction, filtration, solvent recovery and cleanouts between batches. • Ensure the successful operation of equipment by following SOPs, troubleshooting, and reporting damaged equipment to maintenance staff and/or supervisor. • Perform daily operational equipment and safety checks within the extraction, filtration and solvent recovery areas. • Collaborate with the team to meet production schedules. • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with coworkers and management. • Maintain good housekeeping habits throughout the facility, contributing to a clean and organized work area. • Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture. • Display flexibility and the ability to adjust work schedules according to production needs. • Adhere to all safety, compliance and quality standards, including the proper operation of machinery, instrumentation and equipment. • Comply with all PPE requirements, including the use of respirators when necessary. Qualifications • At least 21 years of age. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Preferred: 5 years of experience in extraction and refinement • Preferred: 5 years manufacturing experience in a relevant field, particularly oil & gas, chemical processing or food and beverage industry. • Previous experience operating PLC or HMI controlled semi-automated equipment in a production environment. • Forklift experience preferred. • Experience with PPE, including respirator use, preferred. • Experience working and comfort with chemicals and solvents necessary. • Must pass a comprehensive background check • Valid identification to work in the US • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills • Proficient at multi- tasking in a fast-paced environment • Positive team player who works well with others Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
