Job Title: R&D Food Scientist
Pay: $28.70 - $30.60 per hour
Hours: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

As an R&D Food Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in developing new formulations, optimizing existing products, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You'll work closely with the R&D team to bring innovative ideas from concept to production, supporting continuous improvement and culinary creativity.

What You'll Do:
As an R&D Food Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting routine analysis such as pH, brix, water activity, and texture assessments, recording all data meticulously. You will assist in formulating new products that meet company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements, including third-party certifications. You will prepare, weigh, cook, and mix samples for bench top studies under the guidance of the Master Formulator or R&D Director. Tracking and documenting all formula changes is essential to ensure traceability. You will evaluate sensory and organoleptic qualities of laboratory samples and participate in daily batch evaluations when required. Collaborating with the R&D Director and Product Development and Process Manager, you will help ensure timely project execution and smooth transfer of new products into manufacturing. Your insights will support product launches, process improvements, and product shelf-life studies. Additionally, you will formulate Nutrition Facts and Supplement Facts panels, manage lab samples and supplies, and advise on ingredient selections to enhance flavor and nutrition, especially for dietary supplements.

What You'll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred)
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience if not degree-qualified
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bilingual ability in Spanish is strongly preferred
• A proactive, result-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
• Traits such as curiosity, creativity, comfort with ambiguity, decisiveness, and passion for innovation
• A self-motivated, organized attitude with a penchant for teamwork

Location & Schedule:
