Turion Space is building the infrastructure that will define how humanity operates in orbit from autonomous rendezvous and proximity operations to on-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing. As we expand our classified program portfolio and deepen our partnerships with the U.S. Government, we are looking for a Facility Security Officer to own and operate our industrial security program from the ground up. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who understands that good security enables mission success rather than standing in its way. This position is onsite in Irvine, California.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day administration of Turion's Industrial Security program, implementing policies and procedures that keep us compliant with Government regulations while actively enabling the business
- Develop, maintain, and update company security policies in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), applicable DD254s, and contract-specific requirements
- Maintain Turion's facility clearance status in NISS and manage all required DCSA documentation including KMP submissions, self-inspections, and SEAD 3 reporting
- Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, and support DCSA and customer security assessments
- Manage physical security across multiple local facilities in compliance with DCSA and ICD 705 requirements
- Administer the Personnel Security program, including processing and tracking clearances and access authorizations for employees, subcontractors, and consultants
- Maintain accurate hard and soft copy records of DD Form 254s and personnel indoctrination documentation, ensuring proper execution and tracking throughout the contract lifecycle
- Serve as Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), leading Turion's Insider Threat team in coordination with key internal stakeholders
- Design, deliver, and track security training and briefings for all cleared and uncleared personnel in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117, including initial briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and pre/post-foreign travel briefings
Basic Qualifications - Active Top Secret clearance required prior to start; must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance
- 8+ years of professional experience administering industrial security programs in support of U.S. DoD or Intelligence Community programs
- Certified FSO with direct, hands-on experience managing a possessing facility
- Deep working knowledge of the NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, Executive Orders, and Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs)
- Proficiency with DISS/NBIS, NISS, SWFT, and eQIP/eAPP
- Completion of STEPP FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities training
- Working knowledge of OPSEC principles and their application to Sensitive Government information including FOUO and CUI
- Clear, confident communicator who can translate complex policy and procedure for all levels of cleared staff
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree
- Professional memberships in NCMS, ISWG, or similar industrial security organizations
- Experience supporting Special Access Programs across Government agencies
- Professional background as a CSSO or CPSO
- Familiarity with SIMS security management software
- Experience interfacing directly with corporate and Government leadership on security matters
