Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Onsite in Costa Mesa, CA

3–10 Years Experience | $146,000 – $194,000

Our client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support and scale production within the Missile division. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and critical to shaping manufacturing design from prototype through full-scale production.

What You'll Do

• Lead manufacturing for assigned products from prototype to large-scale production

• Partner with design engineering to ensure strong Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

• Serve as the manufacturing liaison for mechanical fabrication and avionics

• Own production documentation (MBOMs, work instructions, requirements, etc.)

• Support quality planning and production-related business systems

• Collaborate with planning teams on capacity planning and production readiness

• Analyze metrics to drive cost reduction, quality improvements, and throughput

• Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability

• Develop scalable production and test methodologies

• Travel to suppliers for sourcing, troubleshooting, and process improvements

Required Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, math, or a technical field

• 5+ years in manufacturing, prototyping, or similar hands-on role

• Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to build hardware in resource-constrained environments

• Hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, soldering, or assembly

• Eligible to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling production operations and leading change initiatives

• Harness & PCBA fabrication experience; SMT process understanding

• Hands-on background with RC or autonomous flight vehicles or control systems

• Active U.S. Secret clearance
