Mandrel Bender Operator – Motorsports Fabrication

Costa Mesa, CA Full-Time | Up To $32 per hour

Are you a precision-driven fabricator with a passion for motorsports? We're looking for an experienced Mandrel Bender Operator to join our team in building high-performance headers and exhaust components. You'll be working with NC benders and stainless steel tubing in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment.

What You'll Do:

• Operate and calibrate NC mandrel bending machines
• Bend stainless steel tubing to spec using detailed drawings
• Perform accurate measuring, layout work, and tube setup
• Collaborate with welders and fabricators on custom header builds
• Maintain high quality and performance standards

What You'll Need:

• Proven experience with mandrel bending in an automotive/motorsports setting
• Ability to read blueprints and setup NC benders
• Strong skills in basic fabrication, measuring tools, and math
• Comfortable working with stainless steel tubing
• Welding/fab experience is a plus

Compensation:

$22–$31/hour, based on experience

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Mandrel Bender Operator to join our motorsports fabrication team. This role requires experience with NC bendersstainless steel tubing, and the production of custom headers and exhaust components. Candidates should also have a solid foundation in basic fabrication techniquesaccurate measuring, and basic math skills necessary for precise setups and consistent output.

The right candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and passionate about producing top-quality work in a performance-driven shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, and maintain NC mandrel bending machines for stainless steel tubing
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specs
• Perform precise measurements, layout work, and tubing adjustments for custom bends
• Apply basic fabrication techniques to assist in header and exhaust system builds
• Collaborate with welders and fabricators to ensure proper fitment and finish
• Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure high performance and consistency
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and follow all shop safety protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience operating mandrel benders in a motorsports or performance fabrication setting
• Proficient in working with stainless steel tubing
• Ability to read blueprints, take accurate measurements, and perform basic math
• Familiarity with custom header/exhaust fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Basic fabrication knowledge (cutting, grinding, prepping, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with custom builds for race cars or high-performance vehicles
• Welding or fabrication skills are a strong plus

Compensation:

We offer a competitive hourly wage in the range of $24 – $30/hour, depending on experience and skill level.

Top candidates with strong NC bender knowledge and motorsports fabrication background will be considered for the higher end of the range.
