Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for two technically proficient SMT In-Process AOI Inspector - Level I to join its Brea, CA team! The AOI Inspector - Level I will perform visual, electrical, and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies and will be responsible for daily inspections to assure compliance with manufacturing traveler, engineering drawings, bill of materials, process specific instructions, critical criteria, IPC standards (IPC-610, J-STD-001, Class 2), and other applicable documents.

Responsibilities of the AOI Inspector - Level 1:
- Responsible for setup and operation of 2D AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machines.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure workmanship that complies with the appropriate requirements from engineering drawings, process specifications, industry standards (IPC-610, J-STD-001), and customer-specific criteria.
- Uses precision measuring instruments such as smart tweezers and calipers and pin gauges to determine adherence to electrical and dimensional specifications on first articles, in-process inspections, and production runs.
- Ability to operate equipment in a fast-paced electro-mechanical production environment.
- Communicate the defects not captured by equipment to responsible personnel for enhancement of program integrity.
- Communicate to assembly operators any of the defects being noted during the AOI operations so that corrections can be quickly implemented.
- Perform and record results of first article inspections and in-process inspections of assemblies and input data into the associated database.

Qualifications of the AOI Inspector - Level 1:- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing or similar industry.
- Experience operating Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine and the ability to interpret Engineering Documentation and work instructions.
- 3 years of Electronic Manufacturing.
- Comprehension of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
- Must understand how electronic components are oriented and be able to distinguish the different part numbers.
- 1 year of experience in a regulated industry such as ISO9001, AS9100 or ISO13485.

Second Shift (2 Shifts Total)
Shift Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Paid Hours Per Day: 8 hours (includes one 30-minute unpaid meal break).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
Breaks
Meal Break (First Shift): One 30-minute unpaid meal break, typically scheduled around 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM.
Meal Break (Second Shift): One 30-minute unpaid meal break, typically scheduled between 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM.
Rest Breaks: Two paid 10-minute rest breaks per shift, in compliance with California labor law.
Budgeted Hours
Budgeted Weekly Hours: 40 hours (5 shifts × 8 hours).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
