  • Own design to cost strategy across assigned commodities, driving cost convergence from prototype through production
  • Perform deep review of engineering Bills of Material and lead bottoms up cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and strategic sourcing across critical mechanical and hardware commodities
  • Negotiate commercial agreements covering pricing, lead times, capacity, and risk allocation
  • Own supplier performance across delivery, quality, cost, and innovation metrics and serve as primary escalation point
  • Support prototype builds and production ramp by aligning suppliers to technical and schedule requirements
  • Manage supply risk including tariffs, import and export exposure, cost inflation, and disruptions
  • Monitor spend against program budgets and forecasts and report supply chain performance to leadership
  • Align demand signals, maintain accurate product master data, and leverage ERP systems for tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate engineering change implementation to reduce obsolescence and excess material exposure

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in aerospace or defense supply chain, commodity management, or sourcing engineering within mechanical fabrication or complex hardware environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Science, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of engineering materials, fabrication processes, and manufacturing constraints
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost engineering, value engineering, or total cost of ownership analysis
  • Strong negotiation and contract development skills
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, FAR, and DFAR regulations
  • Experience operating within ERP systems in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Experience supporting complex hardware systems such as UAV or aerospace platforms
  • Familiarity with regulated defense procurement environments

Additional Requirements
