Environmental Health and Safety Technician - Industrial Hygienist

Position Overview

AEG is seeking a motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician / Industrial Hygienist to support a variety of field-based industrial hygiene and environmental health projects. This is a role ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on field work, diverse project sites, and working directly with clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial hygiene field activities including:
  • Air, noise, and vapor sampling
  • Asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous materials assessments
  • Indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations
  • Perform EHS inspections and compliance assessments at industrial and commercial facilities
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain sampling equipment
  • Accurately document field observations, sampling data, and chain-of-custody records
  • Assist with data interpretation and preparation of technical reports
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and site personnel
  • Travel frequently to project sites (often multi-day assignments)
  • Follow company health, safety, and quality procedures at all times

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (or equivalent field experience)
  • 1–5+ years of relevant EHS or industrial hygiene field experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic industrial hygiene principles
  • Experience with field sampling equipment and data collection
  • Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and drug screening

Preferred Certifications

  • Industrial Hygienist in Training (IHIT)
  • Asbestos Inspector, Air Sampling Professional, or Project Monitor
  • Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (current)

Physical & Field Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry sampling equipment
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators
