The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting employees and leaders across multiple service centers. This position serves as a trusted HR partner, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience, accurate and timely workers' compensation administration, and responsive day-to-day employee support.
This role requires strong working knowledge of Paylocity, high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. 1. Onboarding & New Hire Experience
Manage full-cycle onboarding process from offer acceptance through first 90 days.
Initiate and track onboarding workflows within Paylocity, including:
New hire paperwork
I-9 verification and E-Verify compliance
Direct deposit and tax forms
Benefits enrollment coordination
Partners with hiring managers to ensure new hires have required tools, system access, and training.
Conduct new hire orientation (virtual and/or in person).
Monitor onboarding metrics and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
Support bkg checks and pre-employment screenings.
2. Workers' Compensation Administration
Serve as primary point of contact for all workers' compensation claims.
File First Reports of Injury (FROI) in a timely and compliant manner.
Coordinate with insurance carriers, adjusters, and leadership.
Track claim status, return-to-work documentation, and medical restrictions.
Support modified duty and return-to-work programs.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure OSHA log updates when required.
Partner with Safety and Operations leaders to identify trends and reduce incidents.
3. Employee Support & HR Operations
Serve as first point of contact for employee HR inquiries.
Provide guidance on policies, benefits, payroll questions, timekeeping, PTO, and compliance matters.
Assist leaders with employee relations matters and documentation.
Maintain accurate employee records in Paylocity.
Support payroll processing by auditing changes and resolving discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Assist with performance management processes and documentation.
Support employee engagement initiatives and company programs.

3+ years of HR Generalist or higher level HR coordination experience
HRIS - Paylocity (onboarding & time/labor reporting)

Microsoft Suite - Word & excel used the most. Must be comfortable with Excel - ideally pivot tables at least

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
