POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Guest Room Attendant role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for our guests. You will be responsible for ensuring that guest rooms are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to an exceptional experience.

MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES

  • Show unwavering dedication to providing exceptional experiences for our guests and team members.
  • Thoroughly clean assigned guest rooms adhering to established company standards and procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, cart rooms, and laundry areas to ensure cleanliness and efficiency during use.
  • Restock carts as needed, following management direction.
  • Promptly report maintenance issues to the front desk or manager on duty.
  • Safeguard guest property left behind in checkout rooms, reporting it to the front desk and manager on duty.
  • Respond to guest requests with reasonable accommodations whenever possible.
  • Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required training, including annual Extended Stay University training.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist with cleaning other hotel areas as assigned by management, including but not limited to the associate breakroom, guest laundry, fitness room, vending areas, stairwells, and common areas.
  • Maintain overall hotel cleanliness and presentation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the management team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to comprehend instructions, policies, and guidelines, with effective communication skills.
  • Capable of following guidelines, meeting time objectives and productivity standards.
  • Exhibit sound judgment and decision-making at all times.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to stand, be mobile, navigate the hotel, and handle objects and cleaning equipment, as well as detect various scents and sounds.
  • Must be able to reach and access low areas, climb stairs, and maintain balance while performing tasks.
  • Occasionally push/pull cleaning carts or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be vigilant in detecting items in guest rooms to ensure safe performance of duties.
  • May work outdoors in varying weather conditions (dependent on hotel location).
  • Occasional exposure to humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical hazards.
  • Work environment may have moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Willingness to travel to assist additional locations within a reasonable distance when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • No previous experience or training is required.
