Overview of Responsibilities

As a Bakery Associate, your primary duties will include:

• Assisting the Bakery Manager with the preparation, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising of baked goods.
• Delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring that bakery items are prepared, packaged, and presented beautifully while maintaining the cleanliness of the bakery area.
• Keeping the bakery department clean, safe, and sanitary, which includes cleaning surfaces, keeping floors spill-free, and managing waste.
• Stocking and arranging bakery products, verifying pricing accuracy, rotating stock, and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Receiving and inspecting shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality control.
• Thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Bakery Associate, you need to:

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and possess 1-2 years of bakery experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Be reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Exhibit a friendly demeanor and a positive attitude, with excellent customer interaction skills.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Handle phone inquiries and process special orders.
• Maintain general housekeeping within the department, cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Be capable of using bakery equipment such as knives, scales, and compactors, and accurately weigh and label products.
• Stand for long periods and perform physical tasks like lifting trays up to 5 lbs. and transferring items up to 40 lbs.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain a valid Food Handlers permit.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $17.15 - $22.30 per hour, based on your relevant experience and qualifications.
