At Disney, we are passionate about storytelling and utilizing innovative technology to turn imagination into reality. By becoming a Crane Operator within our Transportation Engineering Services, you will play a vital role in supporting various essential operations across the resort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weigh materials to ensure they meet safety lifting specifications.
  • Conduct inspections of crane mechanisms and lifting components to guarantee operational integrity.
  • Perform maintenance on crane equipment, including cleaning and lubricating to ensure smooth operations.
  • Inspect cables and grappling assemblies for wear and schedule replacements as necessary.
  • Operate cranes to safely move, lift, and position heavy materials using hoists or hooks.
  • Identify and attach rigging, fully understanding hitch configurations and capacities.
  • Estimate weight and center of gravity for safe and effective lifting operations.
  • Carry out pre-use inspections of rigging and lift points.
  • Guide truck drivers for efficient loading and unloading processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
    • High school diploma and a minimum of 1,000 hours of crane operation experience, with a valid NCCCO license.
    • Thorough understanding of standard crane operation techniques and hand signals.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to apply sound judgment in operational sequences.
  • Physical Skills: Dexterity to control multiple levers and pedals in equipment operation.
  • Stamina: Endurance to handle vibrations and operate equipment for extended periods.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact at all organizational levels.

Additional Information:

Schedule Availability: Must be available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay Rate: This position offers a competitive pay rate of $40.02 per hour in California.
