POSITION SUMMARY

Join our vibrant team as a Dishwasher and Utility Team Member! In this crucial role, you will play an integral part in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our kitchen and dining area. You will be using both machine and manual cleaning methods to ensure that all china, glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils are spotless, contributing to a safe and sanitary environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Sort, rinse, and organize dirty dishes and utensils, preparing them for the dish machine.
  • Stack and distribute clean dishes to various service areas promptly and efficiently.
  • Regularly change dishwater to maintain optimal cleaning standards.
  • Hand wash pots, pans, and trays as needed.
  • Manage waste by removing trash and garbage to the dumpster.
  • Setup and break down the dishwashing area daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness by rolling and cleaning mats regularly.
  • Fill and empty soak tubs with appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Keep floors clean by sweeping and mopping as needed.
  • Assemble and disassemble dishwashing equipment as required.
  • Ensure the exterior of the restaurant is neat by sweeping up trash around the property.
  • Perform general restaurant and restroom cleaning tasks as directed.
  • Quickly address spills to keep kitchen floors safe and dry.
  • Notify management if dish machine wash or rinse cycles are below safety standards.
  • Take pride in personal appearance to align with company grooming standards.
  • Display integrity and honesty in all work-related activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act with integrity and professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • California food handlers card is required.
  • Basic mathematical and reading skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and multi-tasking abilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to promote food and beverage items effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires physical stamina, as team members will be standing throughout their shifts. Duties involve frequent bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, and repetitive hand movements. The work environment is primarily indoors and includes exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning solutions. Safety protocols are essential to prevent hazards such as cuts, slips, and burns. The noise level can range from moderate to loud.
