As a Retail Associate, you'll play a pivotal role in executing our inventory and merchandising strategies within the Pet Care Center, ensuring operations run smoothly to meet guests and their pets' needs. Your responsibilities include unloading merchandise, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, managing the cash register, and delivering exceptional service to each guest. A strong passion for animal welfare and teamwork will help you excel in this crucial role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage inventory throughout the Pet Care Center.
• Ensure products are well-stocked, accurately priced, and attractively displayed for our guests.
• Process transactions at the cash register efficiently, creating a positive experience for customers.
• Be knowledgeable about pet care and engage with guests effectively.
• Show a genuine interest in animal welfare and uphold proper care procedures.
• Complete training programs to enhance your expertise and skills.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among staff.
• Adhere to all operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Address guest inquiries and escalate issues to the Leader on Duty when necessary.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in mathematics and strong communication skills.
• Professional demeanor with a sincere interest in animal care.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential due to regular interaction with customers and staff.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment

This role primarily involves indoor tasks, although certain duties may require brief outdoor activity, such as receiving merchandise or assisting with carry-outs. Because the job requires bending, kneeling, lifting items (up to 50 pounds) and prolonged standing, adherence to safety procedures is essential. Flexibility for evening and weekend shifts will be needed to support store operations.
