This position is located with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Investigations (DIG INV), Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS).
Conduct investigations that may result in criminal or civil/administrative prosecution and criminal or civil/administrative penalties.
Conduct arrests, searches, and seizures in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, pertinent laws, regulations, directives and court decisions; includes collection and the preservation of physical evidence.
Preparation of comprehensive investigative reports in order to present complex and conflicting findings in a clear, logical, impartial, comprehensive, and concise manner.
May need to appear as a witness before Grand Juries and trial courts or participate in other legal proceedings.
Conducts liaison activities with other internal and external stakeholders and partners, including Federal, State, and local agencies, representing the interests of the employing agency.

This position requires qualifications to carry and use government-owned firearms as part of assigned duties (as a condition of employment you must maintain this qualification).

Medical Requirements The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. OR Education: At least one full year of graduate level education from an accredited college or university, AND the education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Education : Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
