Exciting Opportunities Await: As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will be responsible for aviation-based law enforcement operations aimed at detecting, preventing, and interdicting threats to the United States. Your role will include:

  • Conducting air patrols, surveillance, and engagement activities to intercept smuggled contraband.
  • Monitoring suspicious behavior of individuals and vehicles involved in illegal activities.
  • Collecting and analyzing intelligence data to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Supporting search and rescue operations and humanitarian efforts.

Salary & Benefits: Start your journey as an AIA with a salary ranging from $85,270 to $110,846 per year (GS-11 grade level), with additional compensation opportunities based on your duty location. New hires may be eligible for a one-time $10,000 Recruitment Incentive after completing training, alongside a Special Salary Rate and Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP). Our career ladder allows for automatic promotions based on performance.

Qualifications: To qualify for the GS-11 grade level, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized aviation experience. Minimum requirements include:

  • A current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with appropriate ratings.
  • 1500 total flight hours (waivers available to reduce to 1000 hours).
  • Documented flight experience as Pilot-in-Command, with specific instrument and night flight hours.
  • A valid FAA Class 2 medical certification.

Additional Requirements: Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have resided in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years, and meet age requirements for law enforcement positions. Veterans' preference eligibility and training requirements apply.
