As part of the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Design and Construction Sourcing Team, you'll engage with the best in the business, responsible for creating Disney Resorts, Theme Parks, Attractions, and Live Entertainment. Our mission is to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, protect the Disney brand through risk mitigation, and partner with leading marketplace suppliers.

The Sourcing Expert will oversee sourcing processes for construction projects and design services, focusing on client, category, and supplier management. Collaborating with WDI Project Teams, you will assist in strategy development, competitive bidding, supplier selection, contract negotiation, contract administration, and ongoing supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities of the Role
The Sourcing Expert will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing contracts and commercial arrangements through competitive bids. This includes:

  • Ensuring compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and practices.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying category-specific suppliers and contractors/consultants.
  • Engaging early in project development timelines, from initial concept to completed construction documents.
  • Preparing and executing structured negotiation strategies using Strategic Sourcing methodologies.
  • Leading RFQ/RFP processes for construction and professional services according to company policies.
  • Analyzing bids to achieve optimal value.
  • Preparing and executing contracts alongside post-award administration.
  • Implementing and influencing supplier performance management programs.
  • Communicating critical external relationship statuses to management.
  • Analyzing market trends affecting internal stakeholders and suppliers/pricing.
  • Issuing internal reports on department spend and savings initiatives.
  • Providing support to multiple segments as needed.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 1-3 years of design/construction-related experience in strategic sourcing.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with leadership and team members at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to effectively communicate findings.
  • A proven track record of meeting commitments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A focus on internal stakeholders to identify and implement strategies that meet their needs.
  • A collaborative mindset, adapting to a diverse environment.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Understanding of key contractual terms and conditions.
  • A demonstrated commitment to integrity and ethics.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, along with proficient presentation abilities.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of sourcing processes and industry trends.
  • Experience in drafting design, construction, and professional service agreements.
  • Adaptability to using company systems, such as SAP and Coupa, and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • A willingness to travel as required by the position.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, supply chain, finance, engineering, or a related field is required.

Additional Information:
Disney offers a comprehensive rewards package to help you live your best life, including health and savings benefits, educational opportunities, and unique extras. The hiring range for this position is $65,300.00 to $87,500.00 per year. Compensation will be dependent on internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may also be provided.
