Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Customer Service/Warehouse Associate to join our team. The role involves customer service, sales transactions, and material handling duties such as receiving, loading/unloading material, pulling/assembling customer orders, and inventory checks. This position may involve daily use of forklift and/or crane equipment.

Expected base pay will be between $20.19 and $25.48 per hour at commencement. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and may also include commissions, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other company-sponsored benefit programs.

Primary Objective

Performs a variety of customer service/office administration and warehouse duties related to the operation of a Countertop location.

Primary Function and Scope
  • Performs various customer service duties such as waiting on customers, assisting in determining order requirements, answering inquiries, providing samples, directing/assisting with selection, completing sales transactions, and accepting payments.
  • Addresses and resolves customer complaints (returns and order errors).
  • Performs office administration duties such as processing payments and receipts, reconciling cash boxes, preparing bank deposits, balancing petty cash, preparing performance reports, updating customer master files, and creating vendor orders.
  • Enters customer orders, creates plant/RDC orders, and completes stock replenishment orders.
  • Waits on customers and prepares sales slips.
  • Produces daily sales reports.
  • Performs warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling customer orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy, conducting inventory stock checks, restocking and labeling vendor product, maintaining displays, moving and replenishing material, and performing daily cycle counts.
  • Performs receiving duties such as unloading inbound material, processing inbound shipments, processing stock material, processing customer returns, and notifying management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
  • Operates crane forklift equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized facility and performs general office maintenance.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following Safety Program rules and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • HS diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of customer service experience and warehouse experience
  • Crane forklift experience

Competencies: Organization, math, time management, computer skills, detail-oriented, customer service, safety-conscious.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may sit, climb, balance, talk, or hear. The associate must have the ability to regularly lift 1530 lbs, and at times may be required to lift up to 70 lbs. Tile boxes or materials longer than 36 inches or heavier than 70 lbs require a team lift. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
