The Role You'll Play

Reporting to the Director of Field HR, the HR Business Partner is a hands-on, operations-focused role that requires a regular presence on the manufacturing plant floor to build strong relationships, support leaders and employees directly, and ensure HR processes are effectively integrated into daily plant operations. With accountability for all HR-related matters for their assigned manufacturing plant(s), the HR Business Partner will play a strategic role in connecting plant operations with business objectives and HR policies and practices by offering coaching, guidance, and data-driven solutions that empower leaders and employees.

The HR Business Partner will provide hands-on support and strategic guidance in all aspects of the employee lifecycle including employee relations, performance and conflict management, investigations, compliance, training, and accurate and timely record-keeping and communication to employees regarding payroll, benefits, compensation, policies, procedures, and onboarding/offboarding. This is a roll up your sleeves, walk the floor position in which HR is visible, welcoming, and supportive, and seeks to find solutions or solve problems to enhance business and employee performance. The Work You'll Do

  • Serve as primary HR point of contact for employees and leaders at assigned manufacturing plant(s), providing answers to HR-related questions and delivering proactive HR support that aligns with business goals and enhances the employee experience.
  • Spend significant time on site and on the production floor to maintain visibility, understand site dynamics, and provide immediate support to employees and leaders.
  • Partner closely with field leadership to advise, coach, train, execute, and consult with senior operations leaders and field leadership on employee concerns and issues regarding policies, practices, terminations, discipline, compensation, and performance, ensuring proper handling of coaching, counseling, discipline, policy adherence, and performance management with the goal of increasing leader capabilities.
  • Proactively and effectively manage employee concerns and complaints, serving as an escalation point for employee relations issues, conducting investigations, providing guidance, and ensuring equitable, consistent resolutions in a timely manner and within company policies and legal regulations.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for open roles, partnering with hiring managers to define job requirements, craft job postings, execute sourcing strategies, screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, schedule interviews, and ensure positive candidate and hiring manager experience and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to ensure seamless new hire onboarding, including background checks, I-9 verification, and post-offer drug testing in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support payroll processes with the HR Operations team and ensure accurate, aligned, and timely execution, including frequent oversight of timecard entries, facilitation of timecard corrections,
  • Analyze HR data and trends to support business decisions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational impact.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of HR programs and initiatives, ensuring smooth execution at the local level.

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer:

This is an Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree, AA degree, or certificate in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing hands-on, customer-service oriented, and proactive HR or related support in a front-line driven environment.
  • Working experience in a manufacturing plant is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge and awareness of various HR subject matter areas and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and HRIS/Payroll programs; experience using Paycom preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingual in verbal and written Spanish preferred
  • Ability and desire to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
