Position Summary

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. The Store Consultant is knowledgeable in all areas of the Stores business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services, operating equipment, moving boxes, stocking materials, managing the production queue, and completing assigned tasks based on priority.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • People
    • Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing store functions.
    • Assist in the training of store team members.
  • Service
    • Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customers individualized need.
    • Provide customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines and recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services.
    • Use consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs.
    • Resolve all customer problems quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer.
    • Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information.
    • Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels.
    • Set up and operate printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store.
  • Profit
    • Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages.
    • Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change.
    • Keep printing and shipping equipment and supplies stocked for optimal performance and availability.
    • Stay current on store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail area products and signage.
    • Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
    • Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting, including daily sales, close?outs, and bank deposits.
    • Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adhere to all legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies and procedures.
  • Self?Management
    • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store.
    • Operate with minimal supervision.
    • Adhere to all FedEx Office team member and retail store standards? as outlined in the team member handbook.
    • Perform all other duties as needed or required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 6+ months of specialized experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • For new hires, meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring.
  • For current FedEx Office team members, meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job?related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
  • Pay: $19.70 $23.17/hr
