Jewish Family and Children's Service of Long Beach & Orange County (JFCS) is seeking compassionate volunteers to join our Welcome Team and support refugees as they adjust to life in the United States. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact in your community by helping families feel safe, supported, and empowered.

What You'll Do:

Welcome Team Volunteers work in small groups (3–5 people) to assist refugee families with essential tasks, such as:

• Providing transportation to medical or legal appointments
• Offering mentoring and cultural orientation
• Supporting job readiness and job search activities
• Assisting with English tutoring
• Helping families navigate local resources

Requirements

• Genuine desire to help refugee families
• Provide two references
• Participate in a check-in call with the Volunteer Coordinator
• Attend an online Info Session and required trainings
• Complete a quick online background check
• Join or form a Support Team of 3–5 volunteers
