Quality Control Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer who is an excellent communicator and who can bridge the gap between the shop floor production and the customer. Along with helping the quality team effectiveness, the ability to inspect small metal and plastic parts and assist production in solving quality issues to improve the product off the floor is critical.

This is a fast-paced contract manufacturer that specializes in precision machined products from a variety of metals and plastics. The company serves the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. The position oversees all aspects of quality management within an AS9100 and ISO9001 environment.

Requirements:

• Five years' minimum quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation, basic hand tools, AS9102 first article inspection reports, SPC, PPAP preparation, and understanding and apply AS9100 standards throughout the entire organization.
• Interface with customer and suppliers, oversee any non-conforming product and assist with controlling both internal and external documentation.
• Responding to any product quality related problems that arise during the manufacturing and shipping processes
• Reviewing all nonconforming material received internally or from customers and suppliers and determining the actions required through the non-conformance and corrective action processes, including communications with suppliers and customers

The use of the following is a plus:

• Optical & Video Comparator
• CMM and Keyence Measurement equipment
• Basic Hand tools / Micrometer, Calipers, Thread Gages, Profilometer
• Surface Plate and Height Gages, Gauss Magnetic Testing
• Cert Review for Processing: Heat Treat, Anodizing, Plating, Passivate, etc.
• Standard Calibration Methods
• Solid Communication skills are a must
