Security Officer

The Security Dispatch Officer is responsible for the coordination of all elements of the shift, under the direction of the Director of Security. The Dispatch Officer is acting under the authority of the Director and is to assign "calls for service" to the Security Officers on patrol duty, monitor their progress and document all activities. The Dispatch Officers should know the location and mission of every Security Officer at any given time. The post of dispatch officer is to be shared by all officers on duty for the shift. All officers will be able to perform all aspects related to the post of dispatch with mastery. The Dispatcher Post will never be unmanned.

Accurately maintain the Daily Activity Report (MS Shift).

• Coordinate all emergency dispatching, one-site and municipal services.
• Monitor the Fire Alarm System.
• Maintain the cleanliness and security of the Security Office.
• Control and document the issuance of keys and keycards.
• Performance of Key Control Audit.
• Monitors the CCTV security cameras system.
• Pass-on of all information to oncoming Security Associates.
• Monitor and coordinate departmental communication- Phones and Radio

In short, the Dispatch Officer is responsible for all functions that pertain to the office. The Dispatch Officer is to utilize Patrol Officers, Interior and Exterior, to assist in accomplishing these tasks. Recreational reading, personal telephone calls, and similar activities are strictly prohibited. This post is the highest level of visibility for the department, and a critical area, with regard to monitoring and control of information. It is not acceptable to allow these responsibilities to be set aside.

All assigned duties, specified above, are to be executed with maximum efficiency, professionalism, and courtesy. Additional duties may be assigned, at the discretion of the Director, and should similarly be executed with efficiency, professionalism, and courtesy. All information related to incidents, events or operational aspects of the department is to be transmitted to the Director, in a timely and appropriate manner.

High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum two to three years of Security experience. CPR/First Aid certified and ability to present current Guard Card. Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred. Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur.

Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.

The pay scale for Security Officer (Dispatcher) is $22.00.
