The City of Corona is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Customer Care Assistant I to join our team and serve as the first point of contact to our Utilities customers. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at providing exceptional customer service, managing inquiries with professionalism, and ensuring residents receive accurate and timely information. As a Customer Care Assistant I, you will play a vital role in supporting cities Utilities Department by assisting with administrative tasks, responding to public requests, and maintaining strong communication between departments and the community. Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

THE DEPARTMENT

The Utilities Department is dedicated to providing high-quality water, reclaimed water, sewer, and electric services to the community. The top scoring candidates from the assessment and oral interview will be placed on an eligibility list from which the department may hire. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill the current and/or additional vacancies throughout the City. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a reference / background check including livescan and will require a credit check.

Temporary/part-time employment status does not qualify for City benefits, except for those required by law.

The City does not belong to the Social Security system. Therefore, enrollment in the Nationwide PST 457 retirement program is mandatory and requires a contribution of 7.5% of base earnings. The City contributes 1.3% and the employee contributes 6.2% of base earnings.

Most part-time shifts for temporary/part-time employees must not exceed 999 hours on a fiscal year basis (July 1 through June 30). If an employee is an active CalPERS member they may work up to 28 hours per week.

There are no rights to employment and employment may end with or without cause or advance notice.
