Registration Representative

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Assignment Lenghth: Approximately 2-Months, possibly Longer.
DESCRIPTION
A temporary Registration Representative – Administrative is needed to support patient registration and pre-registration processes within an outpatient services department. This role is responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information to ensure proper identification and billing. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to departmental policies and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Interview, register, and pre-register patients timely and accurately.
Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
Maintain an appropriate level of expertise in Epic, OnBase, RTE, and other relevant systems.
Ensure all registration forms are complete, signed, scanned, and accurately indexed.
Enter notes, referrals, and authorization/certification information accurately in patient records.
Collect payments and post patient financial responsibility in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor and manage work queues to maximize productivity and meet departmental standards.
Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff, adhering to AIDET principles.
Support department-specific performance improvement, staff education, and training initiatives.
Maintain a minimum accuracy level of 95% in insurance coding and data entry.
Adhere to policies including HIPAA regulations, time and attendance, and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1–2 years of experience in a medical office, admitting, registration, or equivalent healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Proficient in computer skills, including data entry and electronic medical record systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional, positive demeanor with patients, co-workers, and other healthcare staff.
Ability to arrive on time and adhere to company policies and procedures.
