Engineering Development Mechanic supports building activities for mechanical assemblies, heavy structure drill out, bonding, fastener installation, assembling components and wire harness installations.
Typical work includes building, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing components and structural assemblies used in production of product lines.
The role bridges hands-on mechanical work and executes planned work through work orders, designs, computer models, processes and procedures.
Typical responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, and using standard hand/power tools and precision instruments.
• Maintain accurate buyoffs of completed work, inspections, and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with engineers to suggest design changes and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and configuration control.
Required Skills:
• Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in aircraft maintenance, machine trades, or manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with composites, titanium, sheet metal, riveting, fastening, wiring, tubing, and basic machining. Familiarity with drawings, blueprints, and technical data.
• Use of tooling: torque wrenches, countersinks, drills, deburring tools, and calibrated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and good communication with engineers and teammates.
Preferred Skills:
• Certifications (A&P), specialty training or equivalent experience are desirable.
