Position Summary: As a Punch Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating punch press machines to produce accurate, high-quality metal components. Your keen eye for detail, understanding of manufacturing processes, and commitment to safety will ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review work orders, blueprints, and documentation to determine setup procedures, punching sequences, and dimensional requirements.
- Prepare and set up punch press machines, mounting and aligning tooling and fixtures according to specifications.
- Load raw materials and workpieces, ensuring correct material thickness and placement.
- Operate punch presses to cut, shape, and form materials as per design specifications.
- Monitor machine operations, making adjustments to speed, tooling, or pressure to optimize performance.
- Verify the accuracy of first and last parts, inspecting for dimensional conformity using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform in-process inspections, measure finished parts, and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Detect and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, making necessary adjustments or reporting issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduce downtime.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Keep detailed records of production, quality checks, and non-conformances.
- Assist in other manufacturing tasks or cross-train in related areas as needed.
- Lift parts and materials weighing up to 50 lbs as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience operating punch press machinery in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong math skills and proficiency with measurement instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and command of the English language.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work is performed on the manufacturing floor, involving continuous standing and manual handling.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.

Shift:
- Full-time, 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.
