About the Opportunity
We're seeking a dedicated Quality and Food Safety Technician for a growing, highly respected food production company. In this role, you will help protect product integrity, ensure compliance with industry standards, and play a key part in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing environment.
Hours & Pay
Shift: 1st Shift - 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Experience Level: Non-entry level; 1-2 years required

Daily Responsibilities
• Monitor and program critical control points (CCPs).
• Ensure product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
• Conduct sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment.
• Accurately record and file logs and documentation.
• Verify that recipe guidelines are followed during processing.
• Educate employees on food safety, SQF requirements, and worker safety practices.
• Conduct plant food safety audits and identify hazards or improvement areas.
• Perform daily product evaluations.
• Ensure manufactured products meet GFCO (Gluten Free Certification Organization) standards.
• Accurately count and pack bags of rice into cases.
• Inspect product packaging for quality concerns.
• Safely operate the case taper machine and assist with palletizing cases up to 50 lbs.
• Assemble and label boxes according to customer specifications.
• Assist with general cleaning/sanitizing and proper disposal of materials.
• Follow all GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
• Perform additional assigned tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Fluent in English with clear and effective communication skills.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs.
• High attention to detail, able to work independently, and maintain focus.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and respond promptly to operational needs.
• Ability to work a full shift, arrive on time, and work overtime or Saturdays as needed.
• Proficient in basic computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks on a production line.
• Able to maintain consistent attendance and follow all safety rules.
Desired Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree or higher in a related field is a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
