Job Title: Lead Assembler

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Shift: 2nd shift (1:30pm - 10pm)

Position Summary:

As the Lead Assembler, you will oversee and participate in the assembly of complex mechanical/electro-mechanical products in a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment. You will guide a team of assemblers, ensure quality standards are met, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain on-time production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform assembly work: sub-assemblies, final assemblies, wiring/harnessing (if applicable), mechanical integration.
  • Read and interpret drawings, engineering documentation, bills of materials, and work instructions.
  • Train, mentor and provide work direction to junior assemblers.
  • Monitor production throughput, meet schedule targets, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Inspect assemblies for quality, identify defects or non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation and record keeping: travelers, inspection reports, daily production logs.
  • Support process improvement activities: lean/5S initiatives, workflow optimization, tool calibration, housekeeping.
  • Ensure safe working environment: enforce safety, ESD controls (if relevant), proper tool use, and clean work area.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade schooling preferred.
  • Proven experience in assembly (mechanical or electro-mechanical) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior lead, supervisory or team-lead experience is strongly preferred .
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to train/mentor team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work required shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
