Ardurra is seeking a Traffic EIT to join our team in Newport Beach, CA, El Segundo, CA and/or Las Vegas, NV.
Primary Duties
Under general supervision, performs assignments of limited scope requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related traffic and transportation engineering tasks. Assignments involve some unusual or difficult problems requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level.
Primary Function
- General knowledge of street design and safety elements (e.g., street design, traffic control, clear zone, stopping sight distance).
- Develop plans for signing and striping for transportation improvement projects and plans for temporary traffic control.
- Familiar with traffic signal elements and signal timing (e.g., signalized intersection movements, signal operating plans, timing charts).
- Support the development of concept plans for Signalization, Lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
- Basic knowledge of Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) and emergent technologies such as Connected Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) initiatives is a plus.
- Develop plans for signalization, and ITS including component layout, fiber optic communications design, and power connectivity.
- Assist with traffic impact studies and perform traffic analysis using Synchro software for intersection level of service calculations.
- Knowledge and experience of preparation of lighting plans and perform analysis and calculations using photometric analysis (AGi32 or similar software) for light pole distribution is a plus.
- Conduct field reviews, existing condition assessment, system inventory, and proposed improvement design development (required).
- Application of engineering design Standards during concept and plans preparation.
- Civil or Electrical Engineering degree or background will be considered including traffic studies and traffic signal timing operations.
Education And Experience Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- EIT preferred.
- AutoCAD preferred, MicroStation experience also considered.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Synchro software.
- Ability to multitask and deliver efficient results.
Salary Range
$80,000K to $92,000K (DOE)
